Companies operating employee share plans have been given a deadline extension for registering their arrangements and submitting their annual returns online.
The HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) Employment Related Securities (ERS) Online Service experienced technical issues and the deadline for filing annual returns has therefore been extended to 4 August 2015.
If a company files its returns (for the tax year ending 5 April 2015) on or before 4 August 2015 HMRC will not charge a penalty.
The templates to be completed and submitted with the annual returns are available on the HMRC website. Contact Kiki below if you would like advice.
HMRC is investigating whether companies that have already filed their returns and received an on-screen acknowledgement may need to re-submit their returns.
We endeavour to provide updates as they are published by HMRC.
