Payroll Assistant

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our International Payroll and HR team as a Payroll Assistant. You may have had a little experience in payroll and would like to learn more or simply interested in a career working with international clients.

Full study support provided for a professional payroll qualification after successful completion of 12 months.

You will gain an in-depth knowledge of UK and international payrolls as part of this growing team of 13, working on a variety of interesting clients with real career opportunities.

What are some of the key responsibilities?

  • Processing monthly payrolls for clients, including HM Revenue & Customs and Auto Enrolment reporting and bank payments
  • Direct contact with clients and their employees
  • Process the funding requests, banking and payments from the clients’ payroll accounts
  • Liaison with our network of international payroll providers
  • Assist with billing, reporting to HMRC and internal controls
  • Supporting our clients’ international expansions 
  • Delivering great client service
  • Liaison with other teams within the firm
  • Setting up new clients

What are the essential requirements?

  • GCSE Maths and English at grade B or above
  • A level at grade C or above
  • Genuinely friendly and sociable
  • Willing to join a hard-working team
  • Ability to manage own tasks, good time-keeping and able to work under pressure to tight deadlines
  • Be excited about your future career
  • Good communications skills both verbal and written English
  • Eligible to work in the UK

Tax Consultant - Newly Qualified or Soon to be Qualified

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and talented individual to join our Tax Team.

We are looking for a newly qualified or soon to be qualified candidate with experience in an accounting environment.

The successful candidate will be working with senior members of staff, providing assistance when needed in a fast paced environment where good communication is essential, along with excellent time and deadline management skills.

What are some of the key responsibilities?

  • Working in the Tax Department and reporting to Managers/Directors/Partners with tax planning and compliance work on selected clients
  • Work will cover both corporation tax and VAT compliance, as well as other tax-related statutory filings
  • You will quickly become responsible for managing your own client portfolio

What are the essential requirements?

  • Nearly qualified or newly qualified
  • At least 2 years’ experience in an accounting environment
  • Corporation tax
  • General tax treatment, deferred tax and at least some capital allowances, R&D and share scheme experience
  • VAT compliance
  • Registrations and returns and preferably import and export VAT, cross-border sales and MOSS experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Good IT skills
  • Enthusiastic team player
  • Excellent timekeeping skills and the ability to manage deadlines
  • Attention to detail

Would be advantageous:

  • Interest in developing junior team members
  • Language skills
  • Tax consulting experience
  • Understanding of accounts, personal tax, payroll
  • Experience of managing a small client portfolio
