Trustwave is the leading provider of on-demand data security and payment card management, supplying information security and compliance solutions to organisations and businesses throughout the world. It has offices in the USA, Africa, Asia, Australia, North and South America and Europe.

The Business Challenge

Trustwave's goal was to expand their business into Europe and Africa - developing products to meet the needs of these markets and setting ambitious sales targets.

F&L was given the challenge of managing the UK hub's peripheral functions, freeing the management team to focus on product and sales.

The Solution

Since Trustwave opened its UK office in 2005, Fitzgerald & Law have been providing an integrated package of operational advice, support and administration to keep the business running smoothly, whilst Trustwave concentrate on increasing their market share.

Fitzgerald & Law's tax team got Trustwave's UK business off the ground by advising on and implementing company formation and dealing with the fundamental tax issues.

Our legal team provided advice on the contractual elements of employing the overseas workforce, company legislation and employee relations.

To attract and retain staff, our financial services team created the employee benefits programme for the entire UK organisation - tailored specifically to Trustwave's needs and those of individual staff.

Securing the financial health of the business was as important as supporting its structure and HR systems. F&L conducted a procedural review of Trustwave's financial operations and streamlined invoice financing, increasing focus on credit control and collection. We were able to eliminate the need for invoice financing within six months of the review, making substantial savings and improving efficiency.

At key stages of development, F&L's tax team provided further advice and conducted an analytical review to assist the company's expansion into Dubai, Lithuania and France, solving compliance issues relating to a competitor acquisition.
